Pine Needle Basketry – 4/23

An introductory pine needle basketry workshop using a traditional coiling technique. Each weaver will learn to start a coil and shape a basket with locally foraged pine needles by using the swirling stitch with sustainably grown cotton yarn. The process is to gather in circle, share stories, and weave your story into a vessel that can hold small objects. The coiling technique learned can be used as a foundation to weave with other plant materials and fibers. All materials/tools will be supplied for the workshop.
